Variety, flexibility and opportunity

Southern Cross Hospitals offers employment in a range of working environments across a national network that includes 9 wholly-owned and a range of joint-venture facilities.
We were the first private hospital group to gain approval from the Nursing Council of New Zealand for our Professional Development & Recognition Programme (PDRP).  We also offer access to education programmes including perioperative nursing, surgical nursing, and return to nursing courses, as well as anaesthetic technician training.

We are the largest private surgical sector employer of registered nurses in the country.  Other roles within our hospital network include anaesthetic technicians, healthcare assistants, commercial and household support, and managerial and administrative personnel.

We do not employ our own doctors, but instead provide surgical facilities for more than 800 of the country’s surgeons and anaesthetists, many of whom are leaders and innovators in their chosen field and support our vision of ensuring affordable access value-for-money quality healthcare.
