Our hospital network

Southern Cross Hospitals operates New Zealand’s largest network of private surgical hospitals.  In addition to our nine wholly-owned hospitals, we have ownership interests in eight innovative joint venture facilities operated in partnership with other leading healthcare providers and medical specialists.

Our network provides access to quality healthcare for more than 65,000 people each year.

Although we operate independently, with a separate Board of Directors, we make up part of the Southern Cross Healthcare Group of businesses that include Primary Care, Travel Insurance and Health Insurance.

Since we were established in 1979, our business has grown in both size and scope of services offered, and we’re passionate about achieving our vision - to provide a growing number of New Zealanders with high quality and affordable private hospital care.
