Southern Endoscopy Centre is a joint venture partnership between Southern Cross Hospitals and a leading group of Christchurch endoscopists, and represents the South Island’s largest specialist endoscopy unit.

Purpose built endoscopy centre

This purpose-built facility, opened in 2010 is a state-of-the-art centre, equipped with the latest technology, and offering diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy
procedures. The centre includes three procedure rooms and a two-stage recovery area. Patients can access a wide range of services, including anaesthetic support, backed by the resources of a fully equipped private facility, on a large surgical hospital campus.

Southern Endoscopy Centre’s experienced team includes
gastroenterologists and upper and lower gastrointestinal
surgeons, bringing a combination of clinical knowledge and
advanced international training to the specialist centre.

Southern Endoscopy Centre adopts a multi-disciplinary
approach to the management of a full range of patients’
gastrointestinal conditions, and is supported by an
experienced team of nurses.
