Southern Cross Hospital New Plymouth is the only private surgical hospital in the city. Established in 1983, the hospital has 32 in-patient beds, nine day-stay chairs and provides services to over 3500 patients each year.

Here’s what you can expect from Southern Cross Hospital New Plymouth:

• To make your stay as comfortable as possible, rooms for overnight stay have an ensuite, television and radio. Some rooms open out directly onto private courtyard gardens.
• We have a modern day-stay facility for those who do not require staying overnight.
• We have a professional nursing team focused on providing a high standard of care and comfort during your stay.
• We provide nourishing, quality meals for overnight patients and can cater for special dietary requirements on request. We can also arrange visitor meals for a reasonable charge, if requested early in the day.
• We deliver complimentary daily newspapers.
• Visiting hours are 10am to 8pm but special arrangements can be made at your request. Please let us know if we can support you in limiting your visitors. We aim to ensure a restful and private environment for all our patients. Please avoid meal times if possible.
