Patient facilities
Investing in quality
Our promise is a quality-driven service. We deliver quality care, not only to Southern Cross members, but also to patients with other forms of private insurance cover. Increasingly, we provide services to those choosing to fund their surgery themselves, and to patients being funded by ACC and other public funding arrangements.
Whilst in our hospital, patients can expect:
- spacious rooms for overnight stay, with an ensuite, television (selected SKY TV channels), radio, refrigerator and tea/coffee making facilities
- comfortable, modern day-stay facilities that are bright and spacious and where light refreshments are available
- a professional caring, registered nurse workforce, whose focus is on their patients’ wellbeing and comfort
- high dependency care (if necessary)
- nourishing, quality meals (with special dietary needs catered for on request)
- complimentary newspapers
- a welcome for visitors any time between 11.00am and 8.00pm. Special arrangements can be made (on request) for evening visits
- 50 free dedicated visitor car parking spaces
Our investments in quality care continue, and our most recent expansion programme includes the addition of the Northern Surgical Centre to facilities at our North Harbour location.
Our Auckland region team led the recent introduction of a new Southern Cross Hospitals theatre nurse training course, which is yet another innovative initiative designed to add to our country’s skilled nursing pool and deliver a theatre nursing team of the very highest calibre.
