| Southern Cross's modern hospital in the Capital is fast becoming one of the best equipped within our national network. The hospital was established in 1992 to meet the needs of the greater Wellington region, and has undergone many major additions and upgrades since its original design. These include the addition of a specialist centre used for consultations and, more recently, the commissioning of advanced new operating theatres and on-site diagnositic and consulting centres.
A large number of surgical and medical specialists work at our site, offering a wide range of elective surgical services, including orthopaedic surgery, urology, ophthalmology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, otolaryngology (ENT), gynaecology, general surgery, vascular surgery, plastic, reconstructive and cosmetic surgery, paediatric surgery and endoscopy services.
As demand for these services grows, we continue to invest in our facilities to ensure that we respond to the needs of specialists and patients in the greater Wellington region and beyond. |
